It’s Register Time!

When you are done shopping your list, there’s only one thing left to do… Hit The Registers! This can be the most daunting part of couponing. I’ll be perfectly honest, I have experienced epic failures in the checkout lane.

I don’t know why, but someone told all the cashiers at all the stores I shop they were supposed to check me out in 60 seconds or less. The belt is going faster than I can load it and the beeping register is making me sweat bullets! AAAAAAAAAAAAAgggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Somebody slow it down! What’s the rush?!

This is the point where my blood pressure hits the roof, my palms are sweaty and I hit a mild panic.

Be comforted though, I think this happens to us all. Whether you are a new couponer or veteran, we all hit panic mode at checkout. We second guess ourselves and we worry that somehow all our money will be taken from us and we’ll be humilated as we’re told we owe hundreds of dollars that we must admit we cannot pay. **whew** There, I said it… that’s pretty much my worst couponing checkout nightmare.

That’s never happened though. What I have had to do, that I never, ever hear about anyone else doing, is returning the merchandise. Yes, I said that dirty little word, return. I would wrather suffer the humiliation of returning the products and aggravating my cashier than spending more than I can afford to spend. So, when all else fails, if you have to, ask the cashier to take x-y-z off your total so you can get back onto budget.

Now that’s we’ve conquered our worst fears… let’s move on to unloading your cart.
